KIPP Philadelphia Schools’ currently serves students in grades 5-8, but our commitment to our students extends well beyond their 8th grade year. Our KIPP Through College (KTC) Program supports our students and alumni so they can get to, and through, college. Our program has two main components:
- High School Placement: We work with our students and their families, along with local magnet, charter, independent, and parochial schools, as well as national boarding schools, to ensure that all of our students earn acceptance to college-preparatory high schools.
- Alumni Support: We work with all of our alumni to provide them with academic and personal counseling, SAT preparation, and opportunities to attend college visits. Our Alumni Support team also holds social events and takes advantage of the latest in social networking technology so our alumni stay connected to each other and to KIPP.
Our program’s results:
- We have 167 alumni, students who have promoted from our 8th grade. All are enrolled in high schools that are preparing them for college and the competitive world beyond.
- 100% of our alumni have been accepted to at least one college-preparatory high school.
- 14% of our alumni attend independent schools. Combined, these students have earned over $1,700,000 in high school scholarships.
- 93% of our alumni are currently matriculating in a college-prep school, either public or independent. These schools include:
