Our Expansion Plans
10 schools. 356 staff members. 4400 students. 36% more students from North and West Philadelphia going to college. KIPP Philadelphia's Proposed Growth Plan
Growth that Strengthens, not Dilutes, our Impact The addition of KIPP Philadelphia Elementary Academy and KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy is the latest step in KIPP Philadelphia's expansion plan, which calls for a total of ten schools – four elementary schools serving grades K through four, feeding into four middle schools serving grades five through eight, feeding into two high schools serving grades 9-12 – to be opened by 2016. We plan to cluster these schools together, with one cluster serving North Philadelphia, and one cluster operating in West Philadelphia. If we reach our goals, then by 2019, our schools will enroll approximately 4,400 students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade. That will mean over 36% more low income and children of color will go to college in the communities KIPP Philadelphia serves. |
