Who We Are

KIPP, or the Knowledge is Power Program, currently serves nearly 32,000 students nationwide.  These students attend one of the 109 KIPP schools that operate in 20 states and the District of Columbia.

KIPP Philadelphia Schools (KPS) is a network of open-enrollment, college-preparatory public charter schools, and part of the national KIPP Network of schools.  KPS currently serves Kindergarten and 1st grade at KIPP Philadelphia Elementary Academy, grades 5-8 at KIPP Philadelphia Charter School, grades 5-7 at KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School and grades 9-10 at KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy.

84% of our students qualify for the Federal Meals Program, and 99% are African-American or Hispanic.  Despite the fact that our students consistently enter our schools 2-3 grade levels behind, by providing a safe and structured learning environment, more time in school, and high-quality teachers, 100% of our students have been accepted to college-preparatory high schools.
