Sarah Gomez joined KIPP Philadelphia Charter School as the 7th/8th Spanish teacher in August of 2006 and taught that class for three years. In August 2009, she is transitioning into the second Director of Alumni Support position for KIPP Philadelphia Schools. Prior to arriving in Philadelphia, Sarah taught bilingual Kindergarten for three years in Houston as a 1999 Teach For America corps member. She then left to pursue her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she also met her husband Michael. Directly after graduating from TC in 2004, Sarah moved to Omaha, NE, where she worked as a dual-language Kindergarten teacher for two years. Sarah and her husband Michael welcomed a daughter to their family in August 2007 and are expecting a son in October of this year.
