What if the school you designed made a lasting impact in some of Philadelphia’s most educationally underserved communities?

By 2016, KIPP Philadelphia Schools has plans to expand from four schools in North and West Philadelphia to ten.  As our region grows, our need for top-notch leaders grows as well.   Leaders at KIPP Philadelphia are, above all, talented teachers who possess a record of high-quality results and an unyielding belief that all students will learn.  We recognize that it takes exceptional leaders to design, lead, and sustain high-performing schools, and we are committed to finding the most exceptional leaders for our students.

KIPP School Leadership Programs

KIPP offers two types of fellowships for those interested in founding their own KIPP School, the Fisher Fellowship and the Miles Family Fellowship.

The Fisher Fellowship:

• is a one-year program that prepares Fellows to found and lead a new KIPP school.  In their Fisher year Fellows participate in a five-week Summer Institute at NYU, where they learn about organizational and operational leadership, followed by ten weeks of residencies at KIPP and other high-performing schools.  In the residencies, Fellows are fully immersed in school culture and decision-making processes through interactions with students, parents, and teachers by day and creating their “School Design Plan” at night.

The Miles Family Fellowship:

• is a two-year pathway to found one’s own KIPP school that includes a year of leadership development and experience while teaching in a KIPP school. After successfully completing the first year, participants are invited to apply for the Fisher Fellowship to found and lead a new KIPP school or assume other leadership roles within KIPP Philadelphia Schools.  Miles Family Fellows work closely with their School Leader to learn how to capitalize on their strengths and develop their growth areas through intentionally selected and designed leadership opportunities in our schools, all while working hard to be a great teacher for their students in their classroom.
