The mission of KIPP Philadelphia Charter School is to develop the character, knowledge, and skills of our students so they will succeed in top-quality high schools, college, and the competitive world beyond.
Our values are Care: to build our community, Ganas: driven to achieve our goals, Integrity: to do the right thing because it is right, and Resiliency: to overcome obstacles.
Students come to us in the fifth grade, on average, significantly below grade level. By the end of their first year, they are out-performing their low-income peers and by the end of their fourth year with KIPP, more than ¾ of our students pass the PSSA, with nearly half of them scoring “Advanced”, the highest level. In addition to exciting field lessons and end of year trips, KIPP offers a variety of extracurricular activities and sports from jazz band to football to photography.
As the Pennsylvania Department of Education Academic standards drive the instruction that builds our students' knowledge, our KIPP Values Standards are used to develop and hone our students' character.
